Dr. Comegno has been passionate about higher education since she toured campuses on her own college journey. She holds an Ed.D. and M.S. in Higher Education Administration from the University of Pennsylvania. She earned a B.A. Summa Cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa, in History and Secondary Education from Gettysburg College.
As a doctoral fellow, Marsha researched and analyzed trends in higher education at the Institute for Research on Higher Education housed at the University of Pennsylvania. She explored and recommended plans for residential college programs at Gettysburg College, assisted in University of Pennsylvania’s Distance Learning Pilot and other distributed learning programs with the Associate Vice-Provost, trained admissions representatives at both Gettysburg College and Salem College. Marsha also instructed Middle School history classes for center-based gifted and talented, school-based gifted and talented, and on-level students.
Prior to establishing Journey Education Consulting, Marsha worked in the admissions offices of Gettysburg College and the University of Pennsylvania Law School, and served as the Associate Dean of Admissions at Salem College.
Marsha has visited hundreds of colleges and universities, and counseled hundreds of students and their families during her entire professional career regarding the college selection and admissions process. As a member of the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC), the Higher Education Consultants Association (HECA), and many regional associations for college admission counseling, Marsha continues to study admissions trends, and regularly visits colleges. She also co-chaired the Higher Educational Consultants Association (HECA) 2016 National Conference.
